Sgt Hrbek, while our time together in Echo was short, you always impressed me with the way you carried yourself. It was easy to see you knew what needed to be done and got the job done. Rest in Peace brother, you're still greatly missed.

I was in the Navy SeaBees from 1957 to 1961 -peacetime- and for that reason I never met a Marine that I didn't have complete respect for. As a 73 year old with many ailments, I sometimes wonder why God couldn't take me instead of all these young heroes, to give them more time to enjoy life. I try to do my share by being a Member of Patriot Guard Riders, The American Legion & Elks Army of Hope to pay my respect to our unselfish Heroes ! For God and Country

This page is a wonderful tribute and I wanted to thank his family from the bottom of my heart for raising an amazing young man. I was there the day he was killed and he was a true hero. Again, I thank you all.

On the several times I ran into you it was if you were also followed with a welcoming breeze. You, as always, with high energy and a quick wit, always had time for a laugh. I miss sergeant. You were and always will be a good friend, brother and most of all, a hell of a Marine. Semper-Fi. Will be seeing you someday dirrty squirrel.

Dear Cheryl and family, There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Christopher. His was the first funeral I attended as Chaplain of the Blue Star Mothers of New Jersey. Christophers story moved me and reminded me that the world has fine people in it still, no matter how troublesome thing get. Christopher will always be my hero, though I know "You Don't want a hero... You only want your boy!"
